Mid Atlantic .90 Series crowns champs at Race #1 & 2

            Atco Dragway – Atco, NJ – The Mid -Atlantic .90 Series kicked off its 2015 campaign in style at Atco Dragway this past weekend. Great weather and car counts welcomed racers from all over the East Coast. On Saturday Jay Neville (Super Street), Brenda Hunter (Super Gas) and Kevin Scholl (Super Comp) claimed victory and on Sunday Keith Mayers (Super Street), George Stack (Super Gas) and Jeff Livezey Sr. (Super Comp) added their names to the 2015 winners list.

On Saturday Franklinville, NJ resident Jay Neville took his 79 Camaro to victory over 2014 Champ Keith Mayers. Neville took the advantage at the tree (.016 vs. .027) and lead all the way down the strip for a 10.935 to 10.942 victory. In Super Gas York, Pa resident Brenda Hunter took her 63 Corvette to victory over Bob Keister’s Nova Wagon. Keister gave it away on the starting line as he went -.003 red and Hunter ran it out to a 9.858 victory. In Super Comp Kevin Scholl claimed victory for the late Scott Weney as he took his S&W Dragster to victory over Matt Schapiro.  In a thrilling final both drivers were on their games as Scholl took a (.015 to .016) lead at the start and won by three-thousandths 8.907 to 8.909.

On Sunday event number 2 of the ten race series was held. In Super Street Mayers out of Salisbury, Md was looking to redeem his runner-up finish from event # 1. Mayers would take his 1985 Porsche to a (.021 to .058) advantage over Kelli Barbato and her 1968 Camaro and hold onto the victory with a 10.908 to 10.830 decision. In Super Gas George Stack came back from a nine year hiatus to claim victory over 2014 Champ Matt Schurman. Stack took a (.015 to .025) advantage at the line and parlayed that into a 9.907 to 9.905 holes hot victory.  In Super Comp Philadelphia, Pa runner Jeff Livezey Sr. climbed back into the seat after some time off and took home the victory over Ash Senft. Livezey Sr. took a (.021 to .043) advantage over Senft and claimed the victory with a 8.920 to 8.894 result

All 3 series will return to action at Maple Grove Raceway on May 16th & 17th for the 6th annual Sportsman Circuit Shootout. This will be a great test & tune for those coming to run the Lucas Oil event the following weekend. For information on those events contact Rob Keister at rekeister@aol.com.
